It's Strider Banquet Time!!!

Yes, the cold weather may be snapping at our heels like a snarling dog but that's no reason to hibernate. On the contrary, cold weather means it's got to be time for the running social event of the season, The Mohegan Strider Awards Banquet!! This year, that classic event of eating, dancing, revelry, and superb music hits the road to a new venue in southeastern Connecticut. With the closing of Special Occasions in Norwich, a blue ribbon search committee took to the road searching for a new venue and a new date that would best support this infamous gathering of Connecticut's premier running club. After an exhaustive survey of area resources, the committee has chosen the Port 'N Starbord room at Ocean Beach in New London as the venue and Saturday night, February 23rd at 7PM as the date and time for this gala affair.

As always, we will gather to honor the winners of the Strider Grand Prix Race Series and the various Strider racing teams and their performances throughout the 2001 season on the Connecticut USATF race circuit. Further, we will gather to consume large quantities of food and beverage and kid ourselves that we will be sure to run all the night's debauchery off in some future workout. Finally, we will dedicate ourselves to creating an assortment of new injuries while dancing to the irresistible strains of that venerable Strider house band, The Runz. If this sounds like the kind of event that will provide you with the most indelible winter memories of 2002 you can imagine, then we have the tickets available to provide you with a night you might have live down the rest of the year!!

All Striders and their guests are welcomed and encouraged to attend this very memorable, fun evening.
